Experts believe the history of Blue Sandstone dates back to the 17th century Italy and was created by a family of artisanal glass makers in Venice. But its formula was private for many centuries until the glassmaker artisan Pietro Bigaglia revealed the method to the public. Blue Sandstone (also known as Blue Goldstone is a semi-precious stone made up of natural minerals (quartz sand, copper, gypsum, feldspar and a pinch of cobalt). Blue Sandstone was forged by monks, hence its nickname “Monk’s Gold.” This galaxy-resembling stone and its iridescent shimmer like stars in the night sky remind us never to dull our shine. Blue Sandstone has been used to purify drinking water.
